North of Wind River
The ranch is failing, the bank is calling, and John is on his way South to pick up a herd of bison.
"Keeping a heritage herd of bison is the way to go. Then you can keep the government grant and cross breed them for auction. Trust me. I know a guy in Dubois who can get you all heritage herd. Beefalo are just the thing to get you back on your feet!" his accountant said.
It was risky, but John didn't have much choice. The bison came with a government grant larger than his outstanding loans. Cross breeding a heritage herd violated the terms of the grant... but what the government didn't know wouldn't hurt them. And John needed that money.
But a bear has been mauling cattle, and dogs on the edge of the ranch, along the border of Wind River Reservation. The bison should be fine—and they are—but all that changes once the first body shows up. Suddenly the deputy's and reporters and a shady man in a suit come around asking questions.
This modern western tale follows a rancher in Western Wyoming as he navigates life on his property bordering the Wind River, showcasing the beauty and challenges of the region. Experience the essence of the Wild West storytelling like never before!
